Get on Board and Read @ Your Library

The San Marino Public Library, HERSHEY(r)'S Milk and MilkShakes and the American Library Association want you to ramp up for an exciting new teen reading program called Get on Board and Read @ your library. The program invites teens to grab a book for their chance to meet skateboard pro Tony Hawk.

Once a submission form is picked up from the public library, all teens have to do is check out a favorite book and create an entry about how the book is meaningful to them. Entries may be submitted in a written essay or a creative entry consisting of a poem, painting or video. Teens also have the option of working alone or in a group of up to four of their friends. Teens will then need to bring the completed submission form and entry back to the library so a librarian can sign and submit the entry form. The deadline to submit an entry is Thursday, April 22nd.

Six runners up will either receive a copy of Tony's book, Hawk: Occupation: Skateboarder or a one-months supply of HERSHEY'S Milk.

Get on Board and Read @ your library is part of @ your library, The Campaign for America's Libraries, sponsored by the American Library Association and libraries nationwide to remind the public about the value of libraries and librarians in the 21st century.
