Thursday, April 10th at 7:30 p.m. the delightful Hava Ben-Zvi, author of Eva's Journey, will talk about her most recent publication, The Bride Who Argued with God, Tales from the Treasury of Jewish Folklore. "In this fascinating and thoughtful book, Hava Ben-Zvi has compiled a well-researched, intriguing and remarkably rich collection of folktales... which engage the perennially timely, often thorny, and always complicated relationship between men and women." (Dr. Miriyam Glazer, University of Judaism, Los Angeles.)
Wednesday, May 14th at 7:30 p.m., Dan Lewis, Senior Curator for the History of Science and Technology at the Huntington Library, will discuss and sign copies of his latest book, Iron Horse Imperialism: the Southern Pacific of Mexico, 1880-1951. The "SP de Mex," played a lively and important role in Mexican history. Twist Dan's arm and he'll enlighten us on birdwatching as well!
Both events will take place in the Barth Community Meeting Room and are free to the public.
